The string quartet version of the Light Hearted Horror theme. The melody follows the same idea, but the similarities end there. This piece has been written to suggest a scene in a period drama, but with the quirky tone of the instruments, remains versatile. It is not too imposing, despite its countermelodies, so could be used as diagetic music, and work underneath dialogue.
Suggested uses: Period television, film, mystery games/apps.
It'll come as no surprise that this piece is intended for fans of period drama. It is a stripped back orchestral piece, with era-inspired violin movements, playing semiquaver sequences. The middle section features polyrhythmic manoeuvres with violins playing a 5/8 repeated phrase underneath a 6/8 (or 3/4) melody.
Suggested uses: Period drama, historical television, films/games set in stately homes!
